A smart idea of how interaction can drive sales

Here’s a brilliant idea in Korea that use QR code to increase sales for Tesco. They set up virtual stores at subway stations, which is a billboard with goods, simulating what you will see in their stores. The user can actually buy the goods they want by scanning the QR code beside the goods with their smart phones. Tesco will take the order and deliver the good to the uses’ home.

The result of this is awesome. Online sales increased from Nov 2010 to Jan 2011, with 76% rise of registered members at Tesco online stores. Online sales increased 130%.
